On Wednesday, October 27th, Rutherford County welcomes Eric I. Cantor, Republican Whip of the U. S. House of Representatives.
On Wednesday, October 27th, Rutherford County welcomes Eric I. Cantor, Republican Whip of the U. S. House of Representatives. Mr. Cantor is the special guest at a reception for State Senator Diane Black, candidate for Congress in the 6th District of Tennessee.
Congressman Cantor, a conservative, results-oriented legislator, represents the 7th District of Virginia. A life-long resident of the Richmond area, he serves on the powerful House Ways and Means Committee where he works to lower taxes, eliminate red tape, and strengthen small businesses. He has also been a key player in health care, authoring the Tax Relief and Health Care Act of 2006, which made it easier for families to save for their health care needs through Health Savings Accounts.
A former small businessman, Congressman Cantor served in the Virginia House of Delegates from 1992 until joining Congress in Jan. 2001. He is rated 100% by the National Right to Life Committee (NRLC) and is rated “A” by the National Rifle Association (NRA).
