Congratulations to Winning Candidates & Voters of Rutherford County

Sincere thanks to all the Republican candidates who participated in yesterday’s primaries. I also want to congratulate the following candidates on their Republican Primary wins:

United State Senate: Bob Corker
U.S. Congress, 4th District: Scott DesJarlais, M.D.
TN Senate, 14th District: Jim Tracy
TN House, 34th District: Rick Womick
TN House, 37th District: Dawn White
TN House, 48th District: Joe Carr
TN House, 49th District: Mike Sparks

In the Rutherford County General Election, over 10,800 voters chose Republican Greg Brooks to serve as Road Superintendent for the next four years. He will run the office in a sound, fiscally conservative manner.

In the contest for Property Assessor, incumbent Republican Bill Boner received over 8,500 votes which were, unfortunately, not enough to defeat his Democrat opponent. We thank Mr. Boner for serving the citizens of Rutherford County for the last four years and wish him the best in his future endeavors.

Thanks, finally, to all of the Republican voters who cast a vote for any of the candidates. Overall, we saw a solid turnout in the Republican Primary and it is my hope that the enthusiasm, excitement and turnout will carry over to the General Election in November. Regardless of who you supported, it is critical for us to come together to ensure victory for our Party on November 6th.
